A social media report should help you decide what to do next. A list of numbers without context is hard to use. For a small business, start with three questions: what was delivered, what response was visible and what should change next month?

Separate delivery from account performance

Delivery records explain which assets were prepared, their formats, revisions and approval status. Account performance describes what happened after publication. Content that is finished but not published cannot yet be assessed through reach. Record delivery and publication dates separately.

Read metrics according to their definitions

Views can include repeated viewing. Reach or viewers describes the audience under the relevant platform's definitions. Interactions cover particular actions such as reactions, comments or saves, depending on the report. Clicks indicate action towards a link destination, not automatically a purchase.

Keep the metric names shown by the source. Do not combine Facebook and Instagram views and label the total Instagram views. Record the platform, dates and organic or paid breakdown. If a screenshot does not show a date range, explain that limitation before comparing it with another period.

Check the numbers behind percentages

A large percentage increase can come from a small starting point. Review absolute numbers alongside percentages. Compare equal-length periods where possible and consider changes in posting volume, promotions or paid distribution. This reduces the risk of overreacting to one spike.

Look for actionable patterns

Select a few posts that helped the month's objective. For explaining a service, saves and relevant questions can add context. For encouraging visits to a package page, look at clicks and what happens at the destination. Not every post needs the same performance measure.

Make recommendations specific: simplify an overcrowded carousel, explain ordering more clearly or prepare answers to repeated questions. Avoid a vague recommendation such as be more consistent without stating the action and the person responsible.

What does GetMocho include?

Every package includes a detailed monthly report covering delivery, available metrics, stronger content, learnings and next steps. Account reporting needs insights shared by your team or agreed analytics access. We do not promise a particular follower count, sales result or reach.

The GetMocho website shows anonymous client analytics with source labels and dates where available. Evidence from one account is a limited example rather than a forecast for every business. Website traffic is presented separately from social media results.

See reporting examples and source evidence, then connect the recommendations to next month's content plan. A report is valuable when it helps your team make a decision it can put into practice.
